provides access to the deaf and hard of hearing community to VRS (Video Relay Service) technology in Canada for the first time. By registering with this service, each deaf or hard of hearing individual will receive their own private VRS phone number and be able to communicate with deaf, hard of hearing or hearing individuals via smartphone. The primary user consideration for this first phase was to ensure that visitors register and provide information about their technological needs and subscribe to a newsletter which will help them prepare for the launch of VRS services in Canada. This was done by having registration opportunities throughout the site supported by compelling content explaining how the technology will work and how it will make their life easier. A contest was also held to accumulate information about the deaf and hard of hearing community.
